Top Gun: Maverick – The Return of Maverick, the Rebel Hero
When Top Gun was released in 1986, it took the world by storm. It was a movie that had everything – action, love, rivalry, friendship and a soundtrack that became iconic. And now, after more than three decades, Maverick is back.
The new installment of the action-packed movie franchise is titled “Top Gun: Maverick”. Tom Cruise reprises his role as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, the hotshot pilot who stole our hearts all those years ago.
The storyline of Top Gun: Maverick focuses on Pete’s return to the school that made him a hero in the first place. While he’s there to train a new batch of pilots, he finds himself struggling with his own demons and facing down old rivals.
It’s been reported that Tom Cruise did over 500 hours of flight training to prepare for this movie. His dedication to bringing realism to his character has undoubtedly paid off in terms of both performance and visual effects.
